Purpose:

Performs basic and complex diagnostics service repairs and maintenance work on customer and dealer owned equipment. Provides excellent customer service.

Performance Expectations:

  • Performs basic and complex equipment repairs as directed by the Branch Service Manager
  • Successfully completes all required job-related training and development
  • Upon completion of job, prepares and submits completed technician reports and warranty forms that may be required
  • Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
  • Assists with keeping branch grounds, facilities, and vehicles clean and portraying a professional image
  • Effectively utilizes company technologies such as Service Advisor and PM Pro during day to day operations
  • Assists in creating DTAC cases and following up with Deere support
  • Maintains current product knowledge of all products sold and serviced by Cazenovia Equipment
  • Assist in maintaining all company tools, equipment and vehicles in good working order
  • Assists other technicians as needed and mentors Technician Apprentices as needed
  • Adheres to all company workplace safety guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Maintains open communication with Branch Service Manager and branch personnel on a regular basis
  • Follows all safety requirements and adheres to forklift rules and regulations

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2 years of experience performing service repairs (preferably with ag, golf or turf equipment)
  • Basic knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of customer and dealer owned equipment
  • Basic knowledge of air conditioning, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Must own necessary tools and equipment to successfully and efficiently complete assigned jobs
  • Maintains Core Certification in electrical, hydraulic and Service Advisor through JDU
  • Achieves and maintains Advanced Service Technician Certification
  • Efficient skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Neat and clean personal appearance (in accordance with company policy)
  • Exhibits necessary skills to effectively work in a fast paced environment
  • Exhibits strong desire to expand personal development
  • Ability to work within and promote a strong team environment across all departments
  • Exhibits a willingness to accept additional assignments
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Achieves and maintains forklift certification
  • Ability to travel for customer service and training as needed
  • Clean drivers record and valid New York State driver’s license
