Purpose:

Provides a high level of customer service necessary to maximize growth of parts revenue through selling, receiving, and delivery of parts and accessories.  Must maintain up to date knowledge of John Deere equipment and work to maintain customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Performance Expectations:

  • Promotes and sells products and services to meet customer needs and ensure repeat business
  • Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required
  • Assists with preparing and maintaining store merchandise displays and stocking shelves
  • Maintains an accurate parts inventory and ensures all parts, pick-ups, deliveries, and transfers are in their proper place
  • Delivers parts to customer locations as needed
  • Follows all Parts Department processes, policies, and strives to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Effectively communicates with the Branch Parts Manager and branch personnel on a regular basis
  • Participates in training and development to support parts quality, sales growth and customer service requirements
  • Communicates and follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting them to the Branch Parts Manager
  • Assures timely completion & invoicing of all parts orders to maximize customer satisfaction and department performance
  • Communicates and assists with parts warranty and return claims in the required time to receive maximum credit
  • Ensures branch Parts Department facilities, areas and vehicles are clean and portray a professional image
  • Ensures all Parts Department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order
  • Promotes an attitude of safety and follows all safety requirements and forklift regulations
  • Keeps open communication between in-store and other location personnel

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2 years of parts department experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and follow through skills
  • Familiar with the equipment industry, John Deere and competitive products
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, email and internet functions
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Neat and clean personal appearance (in accordance with company policy)
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups in person or on the phone
  • General knowledge of office procedures and accounting practices
  • Basic understanding of parts functions in company business operating system
  • Exhibits necessary skills to effectively work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits strong desire to expand personal development
  • Ability to work within and promote a strong team environment across all departments
  • Achieves and maintains forklift certification
  • Exhibits a willingness to accept additional assignments
  • Ability to travel for customer service and training as needed
  • Clean driver’s record and valid New York State driver license
